Impact of social traffic on adsense

    Hi,

I wanted to know that how would adsense react in audit phase towards the social traffic on my website. I have recently started my website it's been a month but I have about 60 to 65% traffic coming from facebook (majority) and little from reddit, pinterest, twitter etc.
I have 30 to 35% direct traffic and remaining is from referral, google, bing, yahoo and Display such as: Adwords, Bing Ads, Buy & Sell ads.

My total daily traffic from everywhere is about 16,000 users on average.

I have invested everything that I have in this website (and if I loose my adsense then it is over for me, I have invested 5 years in this website along with 20,000 USD) and today when I am utilizing my fb page for this website on facebook, I have started to hear that the social traffic can get me banned on adsense.

I wanted to know why? As on facebook, my links are not promoted with text saying: "click on ads or please visit us" I just use naked link straight forward and it is the same on other networks.

If my traffic is real human still I will be banned for doing nothing? Some people say that the quality of fb traffic is not good, I wouldn't agree to the statement as mine has average pages per visit of 2.19 with average stay of 1 minutes and 44 seconds on average.

The average ctr on adsense is 5.12% so, I wanted to know am I in a situation to get worried.

I do not think you have anything to worry about. There are other things more important to check. Such as making sure you have sufficient spacing between *content on your page and the ads is important though.
(*pictures as well as navigational links, as you dont want someone to be clicking on something and accidentally click on adsense by mistake. You might also want to make a mobile edition of your site that is ad free, to reduce any false clicks.)

Just a tip though, you should not rest your entire life on adsense. At any time, adsense could decide that they no longer want you to be part of their network.
Look into other ways your site can earn money (for example, try to find affiliate ads that you can safely use along side of adsense).

Yes, you probbaly should worry a little.

One thing a large number of those who get banned for invalid activity have in common is relying on a large amount of traffic from social media.

The reason for the problem is that they tend to be your "friends" and then the adsense clicks are coming from a narrow range of "friends" and not a diverse range --> that looks suspicious to adsense. Social traffic will not get you banned, it is just who that social traffic is coming from - ie the same people all the time. This means that the quality of that traffic to those that pay for the adverts is low.

What could save you is the 30% you get from non-social media --- maybe enough to protect you; there is no hard and fast rule.

All Adsense look at is if the behavior of those that click on the advert is outside statistical norms --> if it it, then it is simply not worth it to continue to buy advertising space of you. They are out to protect the advertiser and if you read the contract you agreed to with adsenee, then so should you.

Your click through of >5% is also at the higher end, so is also potentially a red flag.
Very big mistake to base any business on having only one customer ie Google.

    Thanks for your quick response.
I wanted to know what is a safe CTR? And what are the best alternatives for my website? (my website has quotes and wallpapers) which is mixure of text and images.

And also all the traffic that comes to my website from social media, non of them is a friend. They are all strangers as they follow a page with a brand name not me as a person.

So, all their clicks are their own decisions but I think I have high CTR as 70% of my earning is from mobile as my website looks perfect in mobile so, I have a lot of mobile users and my ad structure is also very valid in mobile.

I have 3 ads. In the first screen I have one 320 x 100 then after some content there is one 250 x250 and then in the end I have one 250 x250

Your help is highly appreciated and for your information, I am already accepted on these networks for publishing ads:

    popcash
    Qadabara
    Adcash
    edomz
    adversal
    epom

What is my best alternative or to use along with adsense as my world will crash if that happens.

Getting traffic from social media is perfect way! It is the best form of traffic. You are not relying on search engines. What else would you want? I don't thing you are in any danger. And I must congratulate you on your huge "social media" success!

Your CTR is pretty good. My max CTR is 2.5% :(
Overall, there is nothing to worry about. It takes ages for people to develop a relationship with their readers.

Care to explain why there are so many webmasters over in the Google adsense help group who have been banned from Adsnese for invalid activity as they over-relied on social media traffic?

Maybe because they bought FB traffic, which is against Adsense rules.

Nope. Social media traffic is typically and generally poorly converting traffic for those that pay for the adverts --> disabled for invalid activity.
