In analyzing a site for someone, I found a page with accidental repetition of some meta tags. For example there are 2 keyword meta tags - both with different values. Same for the description meta tag. There are 2 versions? What is the impact of this error? Thanks Mucho!!!
I would need the see the source myself to give you a correct answer. Many meta tags are ignored by Google & Yahoo!, some aren't. I would think if you had two instances of meta tag elements they would all count as one, I'm sure a search engine could decipher this.
Don't quote me on this but I have a feeling that the second set would probably either be ignored or take precedence over the first. Of coruse, it is in the client's best interest to not have this problem in the first place.
MichelRobinson2, did you even bother to read this thread? The metadata tags have been DUPLICATED, which is what the original poster was asking about. Sheesh.
In my view Title tag of each page should be different from each other. Title tag has got it's own importance. The repetation you got for the Keyword that might be accidental. Ask your client or if possible modify it on your behalf.
