Earning your own traffic is a process and it is not instant, thats for sure. There are only two ways of getting traffic - earn it or buy it.
There's many ways you have to find a way that works for you, many people on here know lots of secret ways to boost traffic but just wont share so were left with the use of articles, and social sites.
Facebook advertising doesn't have to be any more expensive than any other PPC campaign. Minimum bid is $0.25 with a minimum daily budget of $25. Of course bidding the minimum won't get you seen very much, so the suggested amount to bid is between $0.40 and $0.60 per click. Add that to the fact that you can choose your target market, and you could have a very successful campagin with Facebook and MySpace both.
20 answers in yahoo yields only 20 visitor! Why don't you post article to 20 articles directories? It would give you 2,000+ visitors to ur site. Comment on blogs related to ur niche, it will give lots of traffic & constant hits.
In my case a Squidoo Lens about Michael Jackson in 1 day was classified on Google 1st position, but you have to insert many many contents and be natural. It's bringing me many links to my blog/website. Another good option is Directory and Forum submission. But don't forget Alexa manual submission as soon as you launch your website. Well 20 yahoo answers hardly takes 1 hour while 20 articles require a week to get written. I am not talking about writing 1 article and making changes here and there to submit to other directories. While talking about Yahoo answers I said 20 uniques is a minimum and the trend will continue for many days to come. You can receive a lot of visitors because Yahoo answer will show up in search results. I am not under estimating article submission. But it takes a lot of our time.
In short-term Yahoo answers does bring you some easy and immediate traffics. But in long-term (if you have time) article submission will bring you a lot more traffics and it'd be easier later on. It also depends on what your niche is. If it's wide enough to cover some hot topics that's on the trends right now, article submission can bring decent passive traffic later. If you wanna stick to your niche, a free and cool service - social media and social bookmarking will help and bring you some decent and immediate traffic you want if you have good things to share. By the way you can also try Entrecard if you want some easy and routine traffic daily. It's like an online business card system. You drop your business card to others, and others come back to drop you their business card. It's how it works.
I am also a big fan of Article submission. But it never really worked out for me. I tried article marketing and press release submission. I have created quality articles that received good page impression but the Links (viral links as the article sites say) never materialized.
Instant traffic is mostly paid-for. To get some quick traffic print your URL on a paper, cut it out and stick to the back window of your car. That what I call turning traffic into “trafficâ€
expertC, he he he... turning traffic to traffic sound familiar. I agree that generate traffics could noat instant, we need more effort, passion, and patient.
Aside from adwords, are there any immediate traffic sources on the net? I seriously doubt that, unless you already have an established site in a related niche or have friends with such resources, you just ain't gonna get anything "immediately". If someone knows a trick to get the sort of traffic you are looking for, don't expect them to spill their guts on a public forum such as this.
Traffic don't pay the bills. Focus on Paychecks for best results. Most people who collect massive paychecks will effortlessly generate traffic because people who want money sniff out people with money and latch on like flies on schnidt. You can find evidence of that on Twitter.
