Just wondering if adding titles to your images related to your content helps that much and if anyone has any stats or anything. Also should you refrain from using the same title for each pic? Say you run a site about kitchen pots and pans, would it not be wise to name each title "kitchen pots and pans" or should you vary the names? I've been on the fence about this one as I'm not sure if I should hit those same keywords alot or change it up. Thanks in advance.
use the alt tag not the title tag. change it up for ever pic, and don't just stuff keywords into the tag, add meaningful descriptions.
lol... when i write html i never add the title tag. i only write <img src="image url" /> Code (markup):
Yes, the alt attribute is very important. It's good to mix it up a little bit but don't be afraid of some consistency "brown pot" "small black pot" etc...
I don't think anyone can provide you with the stats on how title attribute can affect SEO.. However, just like what was mentioned above, alt attribute is important for <img>
Title or alt really doesn't matter, IMO. Just use one or the other, sparingly: when it has meaning. If you want to be found in google image search text associated with pictures (including the filename) is essential. Don't keyword stuff - that is not going to help. For usuability I find very often that adding a description/ title / alt is really meaningless, so I refrain, unless I feel that this picture would be interesting to people in itself - that is: for SEO purposes.
