on imeem dot com when you click to download a track they give you an option to buy it from itunes or amazon...any1 know if they are just referring people to amazon or if they are giving you their affiliate cookies???...
I just took a look, based on what I have seen on that site when I clicked download for a song. It doesn't really look like they are. The tricky thing is though is that the link is in a flash player so not really able to see the link before it is clicked. I don't really have the tools to check out the cookie that is placed when clicked so not able to tell that way. There is a good chance though they have something going on that is putting the aff cookie in.
Good question. If you watch the address bar on your browser closely as you click on a link to buy a song via iTunes, you will see a few URLs go by. The second one starts with a LinkShare domain. This implies that imeem is in fact using the iTunes Affiliate Program via LinkShare, to generate commissions on iTunes Store sales sent through its site.
