Hi all, I'm wondering what the best method is for google seo purposes when naming images. For example, an image of "Wayne Gretzky Rookie Card". If I name it exactly like this Wayne Gretzky Rookie Card.jpg...in html it will be converted to Wayne%20Gretzky%20Rookie%20Card.jpg. Is this bad for seo? What would be the best naming convention, maybe underscores: Wayne_Gretzky_ Rookie_Card.jpg or even dashes? Does this even matter? If I search for the above phrase, the first image in google is named gretzky-rc.jpg I'm assuming the alt tags are the most important for image seo. Please chime in, thanks
you can separate words by (-)..this is best naming criteria for any image.. for exp: seo-friendly-image.jpg
Your right, alt tags are the most important factor for images. You need to ensure that you include keywords relevant to the content on that page within alt tags.
