i am on my way to establish a website include images or pics or photos actually english is my second language so i dont know the differnce between 3 words , the website will be about pics from eveything, ppl, nature, funny, anything so which the correct word from these words to include it in my domain ? if they r similar tell me the best one and if i can get the 3 domains with the 3 words and point 2 of them to the third!
i think its between images and photos now ,someone told me the right one is photos, iam still waiting for more here .
They all could refer to images recorded by a camera. They are synonyms of each other. Photo is a short version of the word photograph. The word images seems to have many other meanings and uses. Such as, "He is the image of his Uncle" which has nothing to do with an image recorded by a camera. The same with the word picture. "He doesn't picture himself ever becoming a webmaster." Photograph is usually a more formal word for picture where more emphasis is placed on the thought behind the images captured by a camera. Speaking as the photographer in me... I record images with my Nikon in which I am always hoping to capture the perfect photograph that is suitable for use as the cover photo. All those pictures shot by the reporter are just garbage. HTH
I agree with snoopy, photos will clearly describe the content of your website rather than the words images or pictures. (Most similar sites I've seen used the word photos instead anyways )
