I bet it is text. If you blent your text ads with your contents, it is not easy to recognize it is ads. So you can earn some clicks. another simple reason is visitors wont click on any ads. So make your ads as contents
That depends on your content ! You can set it as text AND image by defult. sometimes it will show pictures, and this will give you another look to your web page sometimes, it is not bad. But I dont recommend you to place ONLY image adsense ads on your pages.
hmn...somehow i think visitor click on image ad more than text ad. but it's true that image ad doesn't pay good
not necessarily true unlisted80, there are many factors involved with human psychology and why people click the ads they do. for example, if it were that easy to just plop an image on a page, get rich and be done with it, there would be no need for text and everyone would be doing it so that is definitely not the answer. even in my own experience over the years I have chosen to click text ads much quicker than a banner or image because sales text is always important and has a larger impact than many seem to realize.
You can read this article that quotes some official google sources. I think it is best to allow both text and image ads, they both compete with the same criteria for your ad space. Finally if a image ad will get clicked depends on your site layout.
I completely agree with this. If your site is primarily text then some image ads may provide a nice contrast to the text heavy page. If your site is mostly images then you might see a higher CTR with text ads. In the end it is best to experiment with channels to see what gets the best CTR and CPC for your particular site.
I just started using adsense a couple days ago so I am not expert in this, but from what I gather you can use both text and image for a balance. For blending with written conten maybe text ads are better.
Text hands down!!! Two large rectangles side by side in the fold will get me the highest conversions on certain sites. It would be interesting if someone else had the same to report. I must add that the ads were blended and have no borders. A color dropper tool will help with complex page colors/design.
How to blend image ads that can change, you can't just pick one and edit your layout to that one right?
There is also a free tool out there called MouseZoom that allows you to pick colors and there hex values to make blending easier. It also zooms up on pixels.
text + image. Select both and let google monitize it for you. Also, just because you can have up to 3 units doesn't mean it is best for monitization. Wide skyscrapers and leaderboads are best.
Text ads get more clicks than image ads. I use both & let Google choose which ones get shown, just for a bit of variety.
Text+Images becuause 75% ads are text and sometimes public service ads will come on your site So better is to select both of them Saad
I would go with both. I prefer text but when my site can’t get any good text ads I don’t mind to pass image ads. Anyway Google is also using image ads in the normal text links.
