Can someone give me some pointers about this. For instance if you Google "stock photos" 3 images are displayed at the top. The images are obtained from Google Image search. Why and When is that done? Anyone managed to get an image displayed for a competitive keyword? Thanks
I think they pick the top 3 .. and sometimes random from top 5 (that might be only at my end because of diff DC) !!
The process , which you are talking about is called as image optimization. athe web search and the image search processes in google follow a slight different algorithms. When we put any keyword in google web search then it is being searched in title, URL and the description like wise if the website has the images with the keyword as part of the image name and the part of the alt tag of that particular image and also the image is coming in the top search results of google image search then it displayed in to the google web search on the top. This is my view for your thread . May be some more reasons are also responsible for the same.
yeah you (vinit) you can be right in this.. but the next question is that rise .. why google not showing images for the other keywords.. as we talk about the keyword SEO.. hope all or most of the SEO Pro's used this keyword in their images. under alt tags.. As of my feel.. its all depends on google.. we cant make the results of first 3 images.. for any of the keywords.. its all about the GOOGLE GOD .. Yes we can do efforts. to make the images on top for your keywords.. in web results.. by doing.. alt tag ... by making the file name for that keyword.. and also you can place these images in the forums..and linking too May be this way your images can get the top position in the web results..
