I was wondering if Google's images search is a good referer for a site.
Till now I had my robots.txt disallow crowling my pics folder.
Should I let the bots in?

Yes. My thoughts are to allow everything to spider your entire site. Google may think you have something to hide otherwise.

i don`t agree: there are some things you don`t want indexed like certain CGI-s or other scripts etc. google would not "think" that you have something to hide and it wouldn not "care" anyway. Check this: www.Google.com/robots.txt

you should alow acces to the pics, I have i a small site that gets about 50% of it`s overall visitors from Google image search. So you have nothing to lose and posibly you could gain some visitors if your pics are not named pic01.jpg
