www.sxc.hu is the greatest one.. istockphoto.com is paid :p

For cheap paid photographs www.bigstockphoto.com only costs $1.. if you can't find what you're looking for at free ones.

It is. My preferred one too. And what is best - it is absolutely free.

Considering the time it would probably take to find a good quality image... paying $1 saves time = which saves money :D If you're working..

My favorite also. Both are brilliant but Istockphoto is a good choice if you have money to spend on your images you wish to buy.

if the image is good looking and relevant, 1$ is not expensive. thinking that you hire somebody to make a banner or some graphic it already cost more than that. ^^

I like istockphoto, and I agree $1 is not a lot compared to the time it will take to find other suitable images. Plus the exchange rate is good at the moment from GBP to USD so well worth it at the moment. :)

Fotolia (www.fotolia.com) has around 3,000,000 images for $1, so you might want to check that.
