Hi I have this concept placement.

I have emailed google about this along with the screenshot and they said:
Do you think that the border that you see there around the 2 images are enough to distinguish between the ads and the images? Is it a "visible border"?

It really would've been nice if they could have just said YES or NO but meh.. thanks!

Nice design, I think what google meant by visibile borders would be a seperation of the ads and images ?

Not sure if this would spoil the look, but maybe you can place a small faded horizontal line in between the ads and pics ?

    very nice design.

What I do on my site is I have images above the ad. THen use a 1px Horizontal Rule to seperate them. Still works My clickthrough rate is really high.

If they said its "generally" accepted then I say go for it. What they "like" and what would ban you for are two different things.

something like this: (adjust width for your purposes)

    <hr width="728" size="1" align="center" color="#9999FF"/>

Hmm so I guess it would be in my best intrest to put a line between the units?... I've been playing around with a few different formats but this has been the most "visually appealing" I would say.

I'll see what I can come up with, more opinons would be great though.

it's ok because your images have boreders around them.

Why don't you just email Google again and ask them SPECIFICALLY about your current implementation?

I would, but seeing as it took them almost an entire week to respond to my request I thought it would be quicker posting here in the meantime.

I really think you're okay, BUT who am I? ;)

I mailed google specifically about this 2 times. I just got the canned response, so I gave in and added the border, just so I did not have to worry about this bitting me in the a** at a later date.

But since you have a border on the pics, I'd mail them again and ask for confirmation that the border on the graphics are sufficient. It's worth a try.

FYI, If you test the hr look on your site, that hr I sent you above has the color set to a light faded blue, I have a block of 4 pic's, and placed an hr above the pics, below the pics, and under the ads, just so it did not stick out. I actually think it looks pretty good on my site.

Ok I emailed them and thankfully was given a very prompt response. The support tech even apologized for not directly answering my question for the first time.

She said that YES my placement is acceptable so yeah. Thanks for your help guys as well!
