Image Varification

I hate it ! Well establish directory do not use image varification, why do all the small directory use them. I wish no one use them.

I guess nobody dares to SPAM Alive/Aviva -- but the SPAMMERS will always SPAM if there is no image verification by way of bombarding submissions with their automated softwares.

Images atleast give somethings for humans to be involved.

 

I don't use them and haven't had any problems since removing them.

Image verification is no use, spammer still cross the line and spam heavily.. I recommend installing anon's spam guard.

 

instead of the using the capcha which a lot of people hate just get the Spam Guard.

 

I have no problem with spam, I just BAN the IP address if i see spam. After few months the number of spam drops to just few day.

 

Mine aint well established i aint got image verification either . For years it never worked , but when it did i removed it lol .

Everyone got its reason for those nasty image verifications.

Verifications are annoying.. I think they should be placed up when there's spam coming in.. other than that, it's best to leave it out !

 

Using PHPLD 3.1 no problem with SPAM, without image validation.

 

OP says " small directories",so I suppose those "small directory" owners cannot afford v3.1.....

WTH you have more posts than me?!

 

I think we should tell all the directory owner's to remove image varification when say announce thier directory. There is no need for them.
