Image uploading problem in wordpress

    Hi i am really new with wordpress, i am facing a problem when i want to upload a image with a posting getting an error "Unable to create directory /home/linkstak/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2010/01" Is its parent directory writable by the server?. How could i resolve this thanks.

    If you have an FTP account, just make the folder wp-content 777 permissions! It really should work!:)

    Making all wp-content directory 777 is not a very good idea. Instead, set write permisions only to uploads directory. First create it in wp-content/uploads and then change it's permissions to 777 .

    In your FTP client press right click on uploads directory and you should have a menu item called File permissions or CHMOD.
