Image upload problem in wordpress (on godaddy)

everything worked fine, nothing changed on my blogs and since today I have following error when I try to upload image in the post

"File is empty. Please upload something more substantial. This error could also be caused by uploads being disabled in your php.ini or by post_max_size being defined as smaller than upload_max_filesize in php.ini."

that shows both with flash and regular uploader.
i have few wordpress installations in different folders and they all have the same problem that wasn't there yesterday

tried with different images (all small, like 300x300px 30kb in size), from different computers, on different wordpress installations (some of them were the last version) but it's obviously host problem.

anyone else having (had?) the same problem on godaddy?
    any solution?

Looks like Go Daddy made some changes in the php.ini file on your server. I recommend you contact them and ask for assistance in repairing this. Otherwise, find a hosting company that specializes in hosting. Go Daddy is a wonderful domain seller, but their hosting can be frustrating at best.

I contacted support and I'm waiting for the answer, but while I was searching other forums to find people with the same problem, I found post on where someone said that godaddy support only answered him with "it's wordpress problem, we can't help you there" type of answer.
so I thought I could ask for second opinion while waiting for godaddy's support reply

yeah I plan that for a while, but I don't have time currently for transferring, updating some of the code and stuff like that.
I had domains with them and it was convenient to easily connect them with hosting, that's how they caught me :)

Godaddys been having problems. For example all the hacked blogs that they've been having...

Apparantly changing the image size requirements might be a precaution they are taking.

I've had a problem with uploading images with 1&1. I found out that it was related to image sizes. It doesn't matter what the compressed size is, when the uncompressed image is large (in my case something like 650px x 300px) there was some kind of time out that prevented the completion of the operation.

The workaround was a plugin that allowed me to upload the images into the /wp-content/uploads folder, named "Add From Server". I upload the images with FTP and then I can use Add from Server to add them to the Media Library (and automatically create the thumbnails).

    Hope that helps.

thanks for the alternative, but image upload is really basic function that is used several times per day and I would like to avoid complicating it with installing plugins for that, uploading via ftp etc.
also, it doesn't make sense that you can't upload image larger than 650px on the longer side. that just must work.

btw it looks that it's fixed today, so I don't have any good answer for anyone else that is having the same problem, besides just wait or contact your hosting support

I also have a similiar problem. Luckily it has been addressed after setting directory permission.
