Ok, so looks like Google updated it's image search content after ages of stagnant neglect. I don't know if these are new features but you might not have known about them anyway. To see how many images are indexed from your site, search in images like this: [site:www.digitalpoint.com] or include a keyword [site:www.digitalpoint.com shawn] You should also notice in general image results where you just enter a keyword, now it shows a maximum of two images from the same site, providing a link to 'more images from www.example.com' is this new? I hadn't noticed it before. So that's about as much fun as you can have with image search on a Sunday. Why do they only update their image content once every six months or something? 10% of traffic on google.com is to image search... you think it would be an area they want to provide quality results in? Yahoo and MSN are very slow at updating their image search also. The first search engine to switch to continual updates of image search will break away from the pack... what a pathetic state image search is in.
Interesting... it says I have 6,110 images indexed. I don't think I even have that many on my site yet. I clicked through the results pages and it only ended up showing 1,000 results. The last page was "Results 981 - 1000 of about 6,110."
To me it says there are 778 images indexed and I don't see any restriction in other sites I used to browse for images. In fact there are new ones.
