image size in bytes via php

i am trying to download a file from external resource, along with data i get, in the start, i need to know size of actual bytes to be downloaded.

I can't rely on get content size provided by http, so want to have it specified in the start of actual data.


Any one can please help me in this problem.

Try: http://php.net/filesize

I'm not exactly sure how you're accessing the file, but this should give you the info you need.

 

filesize is not applicable for remote files. If you need to know file size without downloading it, try this: http://snippets.dzone.com/posts/show/1207
