    Hello DPs,

I was doing on-page for this page>> Hydro-Lazer . but i saw that the image sizes and resolution are too high!!

so i wanted to know about how google react with this page!!!?
i mean the page is taking bit longer then expected due to image size and resolution!! so does it affect my rank?!!

should i decrease it resolution and upload it again for better on-page?!!

    Regards,

    Yogi.

Image size/resolution does not effect your SERP rankings.

However, having such high res images is no good from a visitor standpoint as it unnecessarily increases load time.

Image size/resolution will not affect on your search ranking ...you should use right tags like Alt tags to optimize your image but as a visitors point of view your site looks good and uploading time not be high to the web ...

I think not. Image size and resolution does not affect your rankings.

However, that page is TERRIBLE. What an aweful user experience. The load time for the images ARE incredibly long. I would definitely compress the images. They are jpegs. No need for them to be that high res. They are not being used for print in this situation... they're being used on the web and should not take that much time to load.

That's pretty bad advice from a web developer.

Image size won't have any effect on SEO at all, but if it takes too long to load then it may affect the bandwidth and / or the patience of the visitors of your website.

I agree with you.. If your the site is too slow to load it will affect in your rankings and some of your visitors will be bored to wait to display your site.

The image size and resolution should not affect your ranking. What it will affect are the visitors with slow connections who will leave your site because it takes too long to load. It's best to keep your images optimized for the web.

To make sure you don’t miss out on the traffic image search can bring (if you post images on your blog!) here are the factors you should take note of:

    1. text surrounding the image - Note that the distance of the text from the image also counts so it makes sense to place the image as near as possible to the related text.
    2. text of pages linking to the picture
    3. the number of websites containing the same or similar image - This helps determine relevancy of image to the search term
    4. size of image - Usually the image with higher resolution ranks better. Note though that users can filter search results by file size. The reasoning behind this may be more for the viewing pleasure since a higher resolution image looks better.
    5. Remember though that loading your page with lots of high resolution images may bog down your site causing it to have a longer loading time. Make sure you do not sacrifice usability and accessibility!
    6. link relationships between images - Images that are linked together and have related associated text will help determine relevancy
    7. frequency of image’s appearance in website - This pertains to logos and other recurring images. It helps determine importance and relevance of image to the website topic.
    8. face and name detection - The more faces on an image the higher it is usually ranked. On the other hand if a specific name is queried then a single face with the person searched for will rank better.

Google spider crawls only keywords,title,contents.................so may be there should not have the issue about the image resolution:)

if you have images bigger then 800x600, hosted on your server and you have used alt tags along with a good file name they will be indexed in google search
