i have posted this on another forum, but with no response, so i am trying this one. I have read a few tutorials, but am still only just learnin CSS, so please bare with me if i seem redundant.

    picture resizing and overall layout

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Hello all.

i will do my best not to stuff up the posting this time. i have reworked my web site at www.aashaaron.com with 4 css docs. I don't knw why but i can't post the code in its entirety here, so the first link is to a page that shows the code. the second is to the web site. here are my dilema's.

I have read a lot of tutorials but seem to be missing something. I would like the page to have no scroll bars, which i have achieved on my computer at home, but when i view it on a different laptop at home (diff res) I can not see the pictures at all. they are just outlined with red x's in the top left hand corner. also, in a different computer the picture on the right is too large and i get scroll bars.

I guess my questions are for directions on where to fix this, ie: can you resize the picture according to the resolution it is being displayed on?
Does the code i have put in for the page layout represent what i am trying to say in the above?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

    kindest regards
    bret

also, i am using dreamweaver mx to assist me in my building, i noticed that it doesn't show .jpg pictures for some reason, but when i changed them to .gif, i could see them, is there a reason for that?

    hi all

i know that my question might have been a newbie one, and ihave done some tutorials, but after 34 people viewing my question, there is not one person on the board who can help me or point me in the right direction?

i find that hard to believe,

if someone has any answers that could point me in te right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

Don't worry, I'm looking at it.

In Opera, the menu at the bottom is causing your picture to 'slide up' whenever a menu option is hovered over.

Not only that, but you shouldn't need so many stylesheets for the type of site you're trying to create.

Do you want the menu to stick at the bottom if there isn't enough content to push it over the fold?

    hi dan

yeah you are right. let me try and give you a brief explanation of what my client wants, he wants his web page to look like wide screen tv, no scroll bars, just the page as it is, so the menu bar will be centred along the bototm, the pic he has of him on the couch is centred on the right, and the header at the top, the green lines are like the framing itself, the prob is though, to get the pic to fit snugly in those lines and touch them, it won't work for computers with different resolutions. ie; on the laptop it looks awesome, but on the 19" monitor i also have, it doens't work. i am going to have to choose a happy medium. what size should be pic be or in general so that i i can please the majority. also i had someone else tell me last night that i only needed 1 style sheet, so i am going to try and work on getting everything into one. i bought abook so wish me luck :(

Hmm... looks like a personal exercise then. If you don't mind me asking, what font was used for the menu images?
