1. did u CREATE all on your own ALL your images yourself ?? or did you "get" them from some places ?? 2. did u recently change your code and create new errors ?? see http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http://www.ukpetportraits.co.uk/ you shoudl get rid of that - because the first one resulting in most / all other ones may have been made into a fatal bot error
Google images index isn't stable in my opinion, my funny pictures website images go in and out of the index all the time, I don't even waste my time trying to track it anymore.
and my #2 below ? it seems that you have added one line mismatching code in your metatags ... fatal code errors of course can/will get your serps down to nil

To improve your rankings in image search you should consider using the "alt" and "title" tag. What this does is when pointing over the image with your mouse, it shows a text description of what it is. This will improve user experience as well as your rankings in google. Also be sure that you enabled image search in google's webmaster tools! Use the same name for your file, for your title and for your alt. Here is an example: <img src="http://yourimage.yourimage.gif" alt="your description" title="your title">
