Image or Text

    What's everyone usually use? I have an automotive website, which one do you think I should use? I'm using both right now. I'm thinking on going back to just text. I think the image adds are a little annoying

    It certainly varies from site to site, which will work best. If you're not sure, run image only for a fixed period and then text only for the same time period. Worse case scenario you leave it to either/or and not just one or the other.

    Image Ads normally gets a higher CTR for me in my forum.
    but it gives lower CPC than Link Ads

    I doesn't use Image Ads because they looks like advertiesment where text ads looks like a part of site. This is also reason of lower CPC of Image Ads.

    I agree with YIAM;
    IMHO, image ads look more like ads than well-blended text ads - and it doesnt take many image ads before you've got that 'spammy' look..

    based on the tests i've done at my site, the text ads perform much better - but YMMV ..

    Agree with both of you guys, that's the kind of feeling I was getting with the image ads. I have tested out both in the past and when I first started advertising just text I was getting a little more clicks, not much, but a little more. I'm deffinately gonna go back to just text. Thanks for the responses guys.

    If you had a site strictly about movie reviews, image and video only ads would be awesome probably. But if you're an automotive site, more reliant on "readers" then text only is going to be the way to go.
