I have just started using Adsense and was wondering to things 1. Do image ads pay more per click than text ads (in general) 2. Do image ads have a higher CTR than text ads (again in general)
Image ads will have a better $ more than text ads. But if you have low click at your site, you better trying video ads more than text ads. It will give you earning for the impression rather than clicks.
well people click text links more than image ads so i would prefer the text link ads as you can easily blend them with your site
Google makes sure that the image ads that get displayed pay more than the combined text-ads that would have showed. So in theory there is no problem with having them show image ads. For me: I've had image ads on for a few of my pages, but haven't seen an image yet. Must be very niche-dependent. Your visitors will be less annoyed at text-ads, so that has been my reason for sticking to text-ads (mostly).
i've only recently started using image ads on a jokes, pictures website. it still remains to be seen (according to my experience) what the performance of these ads is. but i agree - text ads are less obtrusive... less annoying to the user.
well i had the image ads up on my site for a day and got like 9 clicks so I am trying the text ads for a day to see how they do.
it depends, if your visitors like the images they will click more than on text ads. people will know where in your website are ads, and where is the content, if you change the ads positioning freqvently, probably you will get more clicks.
I find allowing text&image ads the best option. Most of the time it is a text ad displayed but every now and then I get an image ad and they always pay higher. Depends on your site content of course. I also find that the 250x250 square is used to for video trailers, the Jackass2 trailer pays well.
