How do I improve my pages for image optimisation?

I have images of Color Schemes and I would like for them to be indexed by google.

    Here's my page: http://www.colorcombos.com/combolibrary.html

Is image optimisation all about the image filename?

    Thanks!

use an alt tag, and the text around the image will also help.

Have a read of Optimizing for Google Images, it contains everything you need to know.

Google Image bot is alot slower then the regular Index Bot, so it takes time as well as correctly optimized images.

I am using alt tags and titles. I am wondering if the file name is the most important part. Maybe I need to add the keywords into the file name?

Don't forget to redirect the traffic when they click on the image to something useful.

What do you mean? Did you see something on the page?

Right now it redirects them to the Combo Tester page.

beside the tag, you must give the exact file name with underscore and do not more than 6 character ..

    example : nokia_n73_cell_phone (do not write nokia_n73_cellphone)

    Thanks

How big are your image file names? Would you name a file like this:

    color-scheme-using-336699-ff3300-fffff.png

But everyone uses alt and title tags. How come they rank better with no difference then other sites ?

I think Google also reads the meta information embedded in images
