Image next to ads?

I myself thought that you were allowed an image next to an ad unit as long as there was a border or space between them, someone told me the TOS have been changed and it's now no longer allowed. Can someone tell me if it is ok like this: I am in the middle of building a new site and want to perfect the ads before I build up the original content:

    http://www.magic-bible.com/

PS> I just want to know if the image next to the ad in the header is ok, cheers.

i checked the site, nice strategy, im just curious as how you got to get adsense considering you dont have any content yet? do you have another site and already have access to an adsense account.. i just read the TOS earlier and it doesnt say anything yet about placing images near the ads..

I hadn't heard that - does it mean that the wordpress plugin that ads the images next to adsense wouldn't be allowed?

It's a border, not a space that they are referring to. Use the border that is supplied with the Ads in the Ads Layout section. Also, I'm getting Web Template ads showing on your site. You may want to put that small paragraph up higher and use Alt Tags in your images to describe your desired keywords.

I should say, that yes the TOS does not mention images next to ads but there have been plenty of emails from Google that DP members have shared and the majority of them state that with images next to ads, you are drawing undue attention . . . which is against the TOS.

meryn, it's because its a new site - relevant ads should slowly creep in, i do use alt tags aslo. When i get content on there they should display relevant

Jon, I can't see that other website but, in my opinion, you should never go by what someone else does. They may be warned or even banned down the line. Go by what Google says just to be on the safe side. And I know it's not in the TOS but they are getting the message out that they don't like it. A light or dark gray border may look okay and keep the background the same color as the heading. This is purely my opinion only. :)

ye it was my understanding that it was allowed aslong as a border was implimented, but I wan't to be sure first before I start building the rest of the site but to be honest that is incompitance on googles part - if it's not in the TOS...it should be how can they expect people to know! lazy...

I so agree with you and so do 99% of the members here. It should be cut and dry in the TOS.

lol right ok so whats the best advice here - so I should just leave it as it is? unless Google warns me? to be honest I think that's only fair as it wouldn't really be fair to ban me if they've nothing about it in the TOS and i'm sure they would warn me first.
Also that's like not telling someone that murder is illegal and then when they murder executing them...wouldn't be fair if you didn't tell them it was a crime.
