Hello I need an image map for my website. I have used previously pure Dreamweaver image map but it is not enough for this project. I need some effects when pointing the area like highlighting the region and showing some popup which can contain the link for the specific area. I spent a lot of time searching on the web, so if there is any good solution please advice it to me... Best Regards
Unless the areas you want highlighted are all rectangular/square, then you wont be able to just highlight certain areas. You would have to image swap the whole image to one where the area is highlighted. Popups are easy enough though. Another alternative is to change over to Flash.
Gimp has an awesome tool for doing imagemaps - take a look, generate the map and then add your effects. I needed to edit a map recently and was dreading the job, looked at all sorts of tools and then realised it was already installed
