Image Loading Inconsistent between IE / Firefox

Hi, I am working on/ fixing a site for someone. Here's the oddball part.

In IE v6 some images do not load at all, and this is random, if you hit refresh, they show up / don't show up randomly.

In Firefox, lol... of course, it looks fine, everything.

It seems like a timeout issue to me, although, this is why I'm asking :) - IE seems to just time-out on loading the page before all the images are displayed.

Please help, I'm getting ready to find something to throw

Well the web page is loading in my FF & IE7, it does take around 6 seconds for all the images to load in both browsers, therefore its probably related to timeout.

Either reducing the size of the web page, getting faster hosting (may not be the problem), or using a preloader to preload the image.

Personally I would look into trying to reduce to web page size as much as possible, also heres a good article on preloading.

    Ash :)

edit: the second time I loaded your web page, it loaded quickly, probably due to is was saved in my cache, clear your cache and try load it a couple of times, also are you on dialup?

Great, thanks, I will have a read and look at what I can do to reduce the page size.

    Thanks again.

Nope, not on dial-up, cable. And I've cleared the cache, tried using preload, tried compression. There must be some way in PHP to tell IE to wait longer. This is happening on three of our computers here, all cable. AND this is the only page I ever remember this happening with, hehe
