Im sure this has been discussed, but I was wondering if image links count as much as text links. I have alot of links that are images and I was wondering if I should get them switched over. Does it make a big difference with google PR?
I did some experiment a while ago, not so sure if it is still true, but on a lonely PR4 page, I put 2 links, both images, 1 sized 400x400 with a link to a sub-page and 1 sizeo 20x20 to another page. Both pages have no other incoming links. the first page got PR3 after the update which sounds normal, compared to a text-link, but the other one got PR2 Both links did have 3 words in the ALT="aa bb cc" tag. With or without PR-influence, if you must link with an image, make sure you have good ALT - texts for these images!
If I use image link, javascript mousseover link, etc I always use footer links or make a text link site map. Shannon
