My website has primary clickable images for its internal links. These images often have text underneath them but for now I have not made that text a link because I thought it might be bad to have duplicate links (one text, one image) right next to each other leading to the same page. So my question is: provided I have good alt tags on the image links, will turning the text into links help or hurt me?
follow up questions: 1) In SEO, does image alt text count as content in a web search the same way page text does? or does it only count in image searches? 2) does alt text in a link pass on juice to the destination page the same way a text link does? thanks.
