Image Links in Joomla Frontpage

I have been playing around with Joomla for 2 weeks now, and are familiar with the basic stuffs (section, categories, adding content, linking it to menu, etc).

However, now im facing some problems. Need help !

Question:
1. How to make a static content for my frontpage that has images as links to sections?

2. How to make images in the content as a link to another content?

Is it possible? What are the recommended extensions? Thanks~

You need to install the jce editor http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,88/Itemid,35/

Set it as the default editor in joomla configuration.

When you install it, edit an image in this editor, select it and click on link icon. In the pop up menu you will see "Joomla! Content Link" there you can choose what type of link you wish to use.

Hi all use this code to link to an article from an image

yoursite.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=21

replace yoursite.com with your site name 21 with your article id to which image is to be linked.

 

Or just turn on SEF URL's and then use a normal image hyperlink to the SEF URL
