When can bloggers use images they find on Google images or other Web sites on their own blogs? is it ok to put this and as well credit the creator ?
It's still copyright infringement, even with this disclaimer. If you happen to take an image that Getty Images or a similar company manages the licenses for, you can end up with a bill for thousands of dollars. If you want free images for your blog you can do the following: - go to Flickr Advanced Search http://www.flickr.com/search/advanced/ - scroll down to the bottom of the page and tick two boxes ---- "Only search within Creative Commons licenced content" ---- "Find content to use commercially " - scroll back up and enter your search terms. As long as you have both those boxes ticked, the search results will turn up photos that the creators - the copyright holders - have declared you can use. Usually you also have to credit the photographer/Flickr user, so be sure to do that too. Wikipedia also has a list of public domain image resources: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_domain_image_resources
Nice advice and tips Nonny, im sure it will help him out. Or else try using www.EverystockPhoto.com they also have CC licensed images , that you can use.
That is a different issue, but if he wants to stay on the right side of the law, he should do what Nonny asked him to.
Morkat, you will lose money if you do that. No need to post something that is not helpful just to get your post count to 10.
