    Hello.

I had a question about an Image that I saved from Gimp.

I looked fine in notpad before I Uploaded to my site.

Now my lines look crooked, and the letters in my header look fuzzy....

I think that I may have resized the image to fit (in notepad).

Do you think that this could be the problem?

Additionally when I look at the image in my other computer it looks fine as well.

Could this be because of different versions of IE??

I've also heard that when images are indexed that they can change as well.
Could this be the problem also?

Also All other images are fine (for now) which I did not edit.

What's the filetype of the picture that's messed up? (.jpg, .gif, etc.)

Also, what do you mean it looked good in notepad? You can't view an image in notepad... Well, you can't view an image as an image in notepad. You'll get a bunch of jumbled up char's if you try opening an image in notepad.

Resizing the image is most likely the reason for this to be happening. Can you provide me with a link to your site so I can take a look at it?

Also, one more thing. Do you have the image set as the BG of a table or div? If so, that table/div needs to be the same size as the picture, otherwise the picture will be set to the table width/height.

Thanks for your response. I have the file size saved as a .png.

I was thinking that you are most likely right about resizing the image to fit the header..

Please Don't laugh when you see this site as it is just a practice site.

I'm trying to put something together that's pretty simple but I'm not sure what I want my site to look like yet so I'm just trying things out.

Additionally I was using kompozer (don't know if that's important or not) and yes I was using a table.

And yes I have the image within a div. but the div. is outside of the table.

Here's the link: Again I'm just starting out so please don't laugh too much.

Now here's the thing. I have another page that I've basically done "free hand" so to speak (basically taught my self most of CSS with in the last week or two)

    now check out this page:

I've been using gimp for my images, on both pages and on the later of the two as you can see both my practice borders, order now button, and my text graphics are fine.

I don't get it. Additionally when I use my other computer the "makemoney4beginners.net" index page looks fine but when I'm on another computer it looks all messed up, the header is shaped right but the lines inside of the header to make the semi-oval and texted are all have jagged edges.

Anyway thanks for helping any advice is appreciated. I've read else where something about when images are indexed that it can change things too, but I think your first answer (about resizing the image) was correct.

Also (sorry for so many questions) does the fact that I'm designing most of the pics on a "notebook laptop" make any difference? I mean the screen is really small so I'm wondering if that changes things as well.

Thanks again so much for your help.

    Nevermind, I got it.

It was exactly as you said earlier. It was because of the resizing.

    Thanks!!!!
