I've been running a few Adsense tests for the past month and it always seems that the channels which are purely image or video ads payout a lot less (per click) than the text ads. Has anyone else experienced this? Obviously, I know it depends on what keywords you're optimizing for, but it seems to be the case in general.
I haven't test this out but from my experience with advertising with Adwords...image ads had extremely low PPC
About a month ago, I read a Joel Comm adsense ebook - and he was pretty blunt about text/image ads not being a good idea - and that you should use text only adsense ads My adsense earnings took a dive a couple of days ago on my primary site - which was showing an image ad site wide - I changed the ads on all my sites to text only - and my earnings went up straight away on all the sites So yes, use only text ads - and they should be the large rectangle
This makes interesting reading and i am going to change mine over,so have you got to add new codes or can you change them to see text only from the admin area of adsense ??? Thanks
keep in mind that some ad-images are really attractive and makes users to click right-a-way... while texts paying more but it is also kinda boring for some visitors.
That's good in theory However it doesn't stand up to testing Tests done by Joel Comm have shown that text ads out perform image ads - because image ads are basically banners - and we all know banner clicks fell off years ago Also, an ad block with 4 different ads is more likely to have something of interest to the visitor than a single image ad - again I'm quoting from one of Joel Comm's adsense books
I changed all my codes through adsense setup/channels Only took me a few minutes to change 20+ codes I don't look at my site's pages much, but as far as I know it worked OK
