Image Ads in Serps

    Check out what I just saw:
    An animated Gif in the SERPS of Google (the text is rotating).
    Needless to say I hated it.
    The image is not clickable tho

    They keep testing new things with the ad display but damn what a crappy image to use, it would be good for advertisers ctr though to be allowed images.

    The image wasn't even clickable. It still shows up for the same search for me.

    Clickable or not it drives more attention to the ad.

    Well, what upsets me is that the url doesn't have a blue background (as the ads usually do). It almost looks the same as if google pitches on of their own products.

    If they ever did include images it would obviously be blended better, i think its a good idea it will improve advertisers traffic as well as make more money for themselves as more advertiser $.

    I see it too. What I also noticed is that it is the only ad on the SERP page.

    I kind of missed that :) . I guess because I don't see the ads anyways, but the image stuck out. Now i finally understand ad blindness :D
