I have several image ads that have been recently approved and I entered on which sites these ads should be shown. Now, does quality score exist for image ads and how is it measured because I'm not using keywords but I'm targeting specific sites? Also, I have 2 campaigns with similar image ads, but only ads from one campaign are being shown and not the other. Why is this? I don't know how to check if my bid is high enough like I could when I used text ads and keywords and was not targeting specific sites.
2nd part of ur Q-- Maybe the site you are targeting doesn't do Image ads? If you don't believe you are bidding high enough, try just using your text ad and seeing if you even show up on the sites adsense.
No, both campaigns target the same sites and since they don't use keywords, I'm not sure what is so different with the other campaign? The maximum bid is actually set higher for the campaign that does not get any impressions. Edit: the other campaign started getting a few impressions now. Google has some latency.
How do I know how much my competitors are bidding for? I target these sites with image ads, but I'm not seeing my ads when I go to these sites. Their ads do rotate, but how do I know how high my bid should be so that my ads show more often?
As I understand it, your campaign keywords are still being used by Google to actually match against the content on the sites you manage or the automatic ones. Otherwise the relevancy would be an issue.. If you haven't entered any keywords for your image ad campaign, I'm not sure how it could work at all.
> Now, does quality score exist for image ads There is no quality score on the content network, at least not the same as on the search network. On the search network, QS takes into account CTR and relevancy. On the content network, QS is essentially CTR only.
What is a normal CTR for image ads? I'm asking because I get a few thousand impressions and only a few clicks. I think my ads look good and have enough information on them to allow the visitor to decide whether or not they want to visit my site. I'm also displaying the image ads on sites only related to my niche so you would think the CTR would be higher.
There's no such thing as "normal" or "average" CTR in PPC. In content network, so many things can affect your click rate, where on the page and how your ad is displayed are major factors. You must however start with your ad. I've been able to achieve well over 1% click rates with text ads on the content network but I know that's not typical. It is however possible.
Lotos1, I have not used google banner ads as yet but from running many banner ads on other networks, as a general rule when you first load up if you get above .05 ctr or 1/2K impressions your doing fine, from there you would tidy things up and delete any poor performing sites or banners to a point where you were doing better than 1/1K or .1 ctr You will after a while you will see when you first load a banner set as to how well it will do. There is one main thing for you to worry about and even though you are running on a cpm mode, is that you will always be able to come back to a cpc calculation, it is this you want to watch more so than you ctr. by watching cpc you need to delete any banners or sites costing you more money than you campaign target cpc to make money or stay within your budget.
