    hello roomates!

I know I'm going to sound a bit like an idiot, but I could use some direction

I'm using verizon and their broadband dsl DHCP I have a 3 or 4meg connection
I wanted "PPPOE" because when I lived in a different area and used "dsl extreme"
and then another time "ATT" I was able to change my ip address very quickly
from either my router or modem....(but for now I have to stay with verizon !)

    So I loved PPPOE !

the problem is since I don't have "pppoe" instead I have DHCP
    it seems the only way I can change my IP now is by accessing the modem ;
    "Westell 6100g" is the model

I can still change my address but it takes soooo much longer!!
it makes changing ip's a major pain in the ass!!

Verizon told me they can only give me "DHCP" in my current area
of course it was only there "fumbling" tier 1 support

anyone know if I can change IP's using the DHCP, but in a faster fashion?

your help would be greatly appreciated :)

    hali~!:)

PS: I am unable to change the IP through my router
it has no affect at all
so I seem to be stuck with
using the modem to change it...I can change the
"mac" address in the router, but it doesn't change the IP!

(I'm hoping that pouring gasoline on the modem and setting
it on fire will help, because THAT'S WHAT i FEEL LIKE DOING !!)
