Man, does anyone else feel like I do? Lost, confused and frustrated w/ the whole link building process?? There are soo many stories and ideas of what you are supposed to and not supposed to do to build links correctly. Like for example you'll get one site telling you that you need a billion recip links to rank well, then another says recip links are the devil and Google will burn your site for even thinking about recip links. What about buying links? no, no.. same story there too.. Google hates people spending money and will burn you alive for buying links to your own site... oh wait no, Google doesnt care, buy links from us!! bah, it's crap! oh and one way links?? yea right, the seemingly impossible task of getting those prized one way links on 'authority sites' is really gonna happen.. lets see how many people can I email begging to post my link? ah, what about PPC? bleh spend $300 in a day and get about $25 in return.. poop I'm sick of all the seo lies and deception!! Everyone just wants to take money for thier supposed seo services.. well if their services are so damn great why to their own sites rank like doodoo?? I just want Google to play fair, my website is aged, relevent, useful and converts.. but google doesnt care about my link building efforts for the past 2 years.. still ranks me like crap, and sites worse than mine on page 1.
It's not about Google playing fair, they make the rules. If you're sites not performing as well as you like, change your game plan. Rethink the product service you're promoting. Maybe go after new keywords or less competitive ones. You don't need to pay for SEO services, learn the basics and attack the dofollow directory. All you need is a couple hours a few relevant comments and you should start to see improvements. Nobody said making money online was easy. Except for the gypsies trying to sell you ebooks. I know what you're saying though. Maybe take some time off, think about something else for a month and come back to it.
Care to drop your url here so that I could have a look at it? Lets face it, there is something you are not doing right. Oh and when it comes to poll... Where is:"Link building is hard and painstakingly boring work but it is essential part of seo" option?
I've got a fast and easy method you can get a bunch of high pagerank backlinks pointing back to you from blog comments. You should check it out.
Sure, our site is http://www.FineWeddingFavors.com ... an extremly competetive market... but we've been trying to survive for over a year.. barely keeping afloat
Yes, I feel the same way sometimes. Linkbuilding could be so annoying and even frustrating if you don't see the results in a reasonable amount of time.
If I where you, I would start a blog writing about these products and related articles, building links to the shop..... And, link building is boring......but, it seems to be the only way today Good luck to you!
Don't get discouraged. Spend most of your day writing content and working on your site so it is unique and informative. Then take an hour out of your day to work on link building. I do 15 minutes with web directories and another 45 minutes researching and contacting other webmasters. Make sure you tell the other webmasters why your site would be valuable to their visitors. It takes time to build a good back link profile, but in the long run it pays off.
sometimes link building seems like a hard task... maybe you can think of a different way to approach it...
My thoughts exactly, that option is missing from the poll. Sometimes it is good to take some time off. On a daily basis I find that when I get to overwhelemed (i.e. can't see the forest for all the trees) reading a good book helps. I like good fiction, but something that will take all your thoughts and redirect them for a while. Basically clearing your mind. Maybe some good exercise, or just fresh air. You can do it! MAtt
thanks for the support.. I think I have a few ideas on taking a new approach, there are some things I realize I need to do 'on page' before I further my external link campaigns..
stuff google my friend, im getting nice uniques from yahoo an msn!! Believe me! btw your site looks good
