While I agree with you here, if the goals are changed or he is looking for experience online then by all means go for it. However you have to realize, you will not achieve great success without promotion and lots of it as well as creating a quality directory.

While these sites have not had the top spots changed if you look via the rest of the list there are several sites that have been added or upgraded.

Also look at a few others as well, http://www.webdirectorylist.com, http://www.alltaste.com, ect all have had there top spots changed this week. as well as several of there other listings. So your statement being there is no life in a bidding directory is way off base.

And as far as a general directory having more life than a bidding directory, that is your opinion. There are several reasons why a directory will have a longer life and being a bidding directory doesn't change that fact. The simple thing is people do not understand what goes into running a quality directory period. There is non stop promotion, non stop additions to make the directory more unique and the list goes on and on. This is a fact whether it be a bidding directory or general directory.

while zorg-links got a 200$ bid 2 weeks ago ... i am very sure a new site will definately not get that. Also, If one start a site and start promoting it and promote heavily like zorg was ... the person will not be in profit even with those high bids. I admire zorg link's promotion but my point was not to misguide the highest bid and think that new people will outbid that ...

yes the life of the bidding directory is questionable and everyone have their own views ... i am just sharing mine feel free to disagree :)

the links are usually one year only so the high paid links will drop off and next year the cycle will start again so i do not agree with your remarks on the bid directories.I have a pr6 general directory that makes maybe 50% of the money my pr6 bidding directory makes. The general directory is very old and listings are $20.00 ,my bidding directory has a minimum of $30.00 bid and people prefer to buy there.
