I'm thinking of opening a subway franchise.
do you think it's a good idea?
Does anyone have any experience from it?
    is it worth opening one
    All feedbacks are welcome.

You only know if you try it.

However, how is the location? Is it a busy spot? There are many factors you should take into account before making a final decision.

My uncle owns a bunch of Tim Hortons through out Canada. The first one needed $650,000. The rest were bought using the other ones.

Foods always sell. If your location is near bus stations, train stations, cinema areas, shopping areas etc..
    then it is fine!

Good luck mate and Merry Christmas!

My parents know the guy that opened the first subway in Melbourne about 15 years ago (long before the current wave of Subways). It didn't work, and apparently he lost a lot of money.

These days there are Subways popping up all over Australia. Nearly every large regional town has one, and they ALL seem to be busy.

I can't imagine how you could lose money on a Subway franchise these days. At least not in AU. No idea what it's like in LA though.

Great idea, as long as you have lots of passing trade. Subway's always popular here in the UK because of the long opening hours, fresh and filling nature of the sandwiches and good value for money.
    Good luck.

It depends on your location. If your around a college town I would guess it will make money easily. Highway pit stops, residential areas with health conscious people etc. should also be good. You got to analyze what sort of people live in the area you want to open in and whether they are the kind who would eat at Subway.

If you are in the right area, yeah you'll be rich.

McDonald's you can't go wrong with - the guy who has the McDonald's here drives an Audi R8.

You need $$$ to start a franchise. Usually at least $100,000!

Although you have $100,000, don't forget that you still have to pay monthly shop rental and wages for your workers. And also you may need to wait for months before the shop is profitable and getting back your invested amount.

good luck but i hate subway. i would recommend going with your own idea for a sub shop and not a chain. get a good product and it will take off.

there is a subshop in Union Nj called MR Sub and it is by far the best subs i have ever had. they use fresh bread and top quality meats and they give a very healthy portion.

a subway shop I think is a great idea.. it's healthier than the other fast foods.. just

remember the old saying location, location, location

I would go for it if you have the money.. just do your homework to make sure the location is right

Yeah, it definitely would depend on your location. I wouldn't put it in a shopping center where no other passing traffic. I've seen so many food shops fail because they think the shopping traffic will cover their expenses and return a profit.

Yeah McDonald's you need like $750,000. We someone that owns 15 of them for 30 years. The thing about this is yuo need to get onto them with non-borrowed money. So if $750,000 then you pay that and don't borrow the money.

Subway is a way to get in for less money and scale up also Domino's pizza.

Many of these are kid baby sitting places meaning you have to do this with all the kids that work for you.

Consider buying an exisiting biz that is not a franchise so you don't have to jump for someone else.

Franchise is you must do it this way or else!

Sure if you do it McDonald's way you should succeed. They have people going to your franchise to inspect and you will ever know who and if you don't pass, you must get it up to standard or face trouble.
