A domain name I need is only available in .mx What are your thoughts on how it will rank in the USA?? Will it even be indexed in Google US or just get kicked in Mexico's Google search results?? Will it rank lower in the USA up next to a dot .com?? Just because it is a dot .mx?? Please help!! If it will rank the same as a dot com with the same backlinks and google PR then Im getting it, if not I wont!! Thanks for any input!!
Domain names have extremely little affect on search rankings, except in local results. But if your site is hosted in the US then it will have the same rankings in google.us as google.com (entire web results).
So google will see americanairlines.mx the same as americanairlines.com (Examples) Other than PR rank and backlinks and so on?? And if my hosting is Hostgator.......then I shouldnt have any issues or penalty??
No. You would never be penalised for your location or domain name choice. As I said before, if your hosting is in the USA then it won't make any difference if your domain is .mx.
