I'm submitting my site to free directories

I'm about half way through the big list someone posted in here. It might help but I'm not too hopeful. I mean 90 percent of them look exactly the same and don't seem to be a serious site. It's like they just used a template and never touched the site again.

They are mostly the same. But, keep on chugging. It'll be worth it in the end.

that's because most members are using a free directory script and they just do minor mods to the script's look and feel; or apply a skin...

Well most directories may not be great for traffic, but they are sure helpful to get your site indexed and for pagerank purposes.

Allmost of Directory Script have the Same function.
Categories, sub categories and list sites.
Why would be use or programming a another script.
Only if you have time, want a stabil and own Script or need more function then can you write own Script.
This is the reason why all most of Directories have the same look. Same Script, not of much Templates, same mods etc..

Directory subissions do work and are needed, but most take an few months to be approved...

You have to keep doing it...

The list is in this thread in *Excel Format*... If you don't have Excel download Open Office from SUN, it's free and opens most all MS Office Documents...

560+ Free Non-recip Directories... There's a few that didn't work for me and quite a few that require Recip-Links and alot that don't have a category for my site...

So far I got one Confirmation and most say it takes from a day to 6-months... *Your Mileage May Vary*...

    Enjoy... :D
