I'm stuck in the sandbox, should I change my content?

A while back I purchased a course on making mini-site SEO'd pages and had initial success with it. Well anyway I went overboard and registered over 5 dozen domains which at first did really well at Google, that was back in December and January, almost half made the 1st or second page, some even went to #1 for a few weeks.

However, since then they've been sandboxed and can't even be found on the first 10 pages or so. Some have made Yahoo's and MSN's first page so I'll leave those alone, but my question is this, those websites that's not appearing in any of the three what should I do?

If they're not in MSN and Yahoo now they probably won't ever be, but what about Google, should I wait to see if they come back, or change the content?

It's a minisite so if anything I'll just change the homepage content, and the amount of traffic doesn't justify link building other than maybe a few social bookmarks which I already did.

Should I wait, or should I change it?

    Thanks

Definitely change the titles and content and wait for it to be indexed again!

I changed a couple of them and they were picked up almost immediately at either Yahoo or MSN, it made the first page. It hasn't seemed to make a difference with Google.

So I was just wondering since Google had it ranked so high before it went into the sandbox that maybe I wait to see what happens when it gets out of the sandbox before making any changes. I guess I'll make changes to some, but keep the old pages just in case the other sites still rank high once it gets out of the sandbox or if the changes do start improving the rankings then I could do them all. I guess I can try testing both.

    Thanks

the bits I've bolded I think are key here. there's not much content and they have virtually no links apart from social bookmarks (dofollow i hope?)

i dont think they're sandboxed I expect they're just ranking where they ought to given their links and content?

if you want to PM me a url or 2 happy to look, have been looking for a real live sandbox case for 18 months now with no luck.

its always the same, when the fresh content Google honeymoon period is over they slide downwards because they don't have enough decent links to be where they were originally.

Yeah I know that Google tends to rank new sites higher in the beginning, but this is a little different I think. I just did a search and found out that they were banned, it's not even listed. I guess I shouldn't hold my breath any longer :(

    Thanks

There's no sense in moving them, they ban the domain not the webhost. Some of them are ranked in Yahoo and MSN, those I won't touch. Several that weren't ranked previously I "re-optimized" and some have ranked, so maybe I'll try that.

Another option for those nearing expiration is to let them expire and hope no one picks them up and renew them, once they expire maybe it'll change, PR and backlinks change once it's dropped.
