So this is my site's rankings in yahoo search = 1 - 10 of 16,800,000 the "1" being my site out of nearly 17 million. This is my site as of today in google = where did it go?? I have been slowly watching or rather feeling google torturing me as I watch my site go from the number one slot in google search to the absolute abyss. So my question is, after dealing with the monopoly for so long - is it wrong for me to not care anymore and just want to focus my efforts on all other search engines? I mean, sure - they aren't as big, but they're more reasonable and don't want to take your soul for trying to meet their guidelines. Is there anyone out their who got fed up a long time ago, and just decided to focus their energies elsewhere? I mean, we tend to forget that there are a lot of people out their who really don't like using google, and most of these people don't know how to build a website, and aren't interested in these practices. I feel like I joined the dark side years ago and am just now realizing it. What do you guys think about this? - not just my situation, but all of it?
i would suggest to keep on optimizing your site for Google only as it is the only search engine which most of the people around the world use. there is no point in optimizing for other search engines unless you know that most of your traffic is coming from them. as far as decrease in ranking of your website is concerned, many factors are responsible for it. most importantly, always remember that you are working in a competitive market and your competitors are working every day to reach the top. therefore, saying that you don't care is not acceptable
If you use black bat expect to be google slapped at some point, otherwise if you are a knight in shining armour then just keep trying to optimise and fix any problems on your site. it may just be a small hiccup by mr G
