I've been a member here for about 4 years now, but only recently have I become active. I've read through several threads and participated in a few of them as well, mainly offering help to others. However, in almost every thread I find myself crawling into, I always wonder: A.) Are the majority of the members here little kids? B.) Are the majority of the members here not very fluent with the English language? C.) Am I in the twilight zone? In nearly EVERY single thread there are people who, for some unknown reason, seem to have the urge to just reply for the hell of it. Their reply might be related to the topic even though it contributes in no way, or sometimes it's so off-topic I prefer to think they replied in the wrong thread. I'm not calling anyone dumb or anything, but can someone shed some light here? Is there any moderation on these forums?
Yes there is user moding as well as mod moding on the forum. And acts of saying random things just to increase post count can get you banned eventually. Typically if you do it multiple times, or if what you are posting is irrelevant spam.
Yes and no. Can't say for sure, there are young lads indeed but can't say they are more than the adults in here. Well DP has members all across the globe (majority are undeniably Indians) and unfortunately most of them aren't that fluent with the English language. The mods are obviously doing something about but you can't just moderate someone just because he speaks bad English. There is still a difference in between people with bad English with the sole intent of spamming and people with bad English but still tries to make sense out of their posts and is actually contributing here. YES! or are you in Alice's wonderland? lol Ultimately, it's not just the mods job to clean things up here but we should also take our part and contribute here as well.
