I'm Selling A Site on Flippa, Someone Accused Me of Fraud

I am listing a site on flippa, but there was one customer that work with me in the past. He is somehow dissatisfied with my sites, and called me a fraud, claiming my screens are faked etc, and accuse I am a fraudster.

He even claim to report it to the local police, and I am guessing he already reported it.

All my sites are genuine of course, but it is due to an unhappy transaction in the past, that lead him to be aggressive towards my site.

So will there be anything that will happen towards me?

In my opinion I would think no, as the police does not handle cases like this, especially when it is a intangible business transaction.

    Please help!

If the claims aren't true, then you have nothing to worry about.

If he's so unhappy with his past purchase from you, I would just give him a refund if you can't resolve his problems.

let the truth settle itself, if he's lying he'll be found out and you should disprove his claims. If you're lying well then ...that's something else.

You can always sue him for libel if his claims are untrue - especially if he has squandered your chance to sell your site.

Posting material on Flippa isn't immune from libel laws!

    Hi Jon,

Contacting the police will not do anything; police will not take a report on consumer complaints. Police will redirect person to small claims court in your local jurisdiction. He will have to have your address and first file a demand letter (can be email) specifying what he wants you to do and give you about 30 days time to do it. You can file a response back by the 30 day deadline. Our court system is not about justice or fairness, it is about who has money, to win even when in the wrong, if you pay a lawyer, your chances of winning are better than if you represent yourself - even in small claims court. Cases are dismissed because people don't understand the procedures, which do not always make common sense.

I also have 75 sites for sale, each with a unique niche product to sell. I would like to sell all 75 in bulk.

    1. this thread is over a year old.
    2. In most jurisdictions the parties in a small claims case may not be represented by lawyers.
    3. I like to buy sites in bulk - pm me the details of what you got.

    To peon / Jon99,

When people have consumer complaints, they may call the police, but they will be redirected to go some other place. There is not much a person can do to recover losses. It depends on circumstances.

I have been wronged many times and there was NOTHING I could do about it.
We have to brush off these experiences; we have to try to make amends if possible.

    Theresa

This happened like 2 years ago. Today, 95% of the sites for sale on Flippa have fake GA, traffic, revenue, ...you name it...

If you have not done anything wrong then you need not worry. And about the police report; in most countries filing a false police report is a felony and that is something which might come to bite him in the future. So relax and don't worry about anything.
