nothing to really brag about... Yeah. #412 for a 5 year old site. Obviously if I knew what I was doing, I wouldn't be here, subjecting you guys to my cluelessness and dumb questions. I apologise, but here I am. So, I'm trying to build backlinks, in legitimate ways, not spamming. I've already started building them up on forums because I post a lot on forums anyway, and am comfortable on them. But you have to build the links up over a variety of areas and blogs are one area I'm repeatedly running into a wall on. I can't seem to find anywhere that actually: Is dofollow, decent page rank, and actually lets you POST your comments. And how do you get your link in there even a small link when links in comments are usually construed as spam if they are for your own site? I've been looking around online most of today and no luck. I don't have cash to buy a list and the lists I've seen for free never led me to anything but the situations I described above. I could write on a variety of topics, mostly games/media/science/entertainment would be ideal. How do I actually find one that works? Thank you to anybody who could help me.
Dude, give other methods a shot. Try marketing articles, social bookmarking, video marketing, etc. Blog comments are great, and you can find some great blogs to comment on using software like Market Samurai, however what you need to do is first, make sure that your keyword is winnable, and second, continue to provide brilliant quality content. As a good start, Traffic Bug has worked wonders for me, that may work quite well for you as well.
What IS social bookmarking? I don't actually know what it is.... Sorry if that sounds really dumb... The current top spot for my keyword is only held by a PR 4 site. I think I got a shot at it. Thanks for replying!
know your keywords first and link building, submit your site on all marketing avenues like directory submission, there are free and paid directories, try directory critic, social bookmarking site, submit all your keywords with the proper landing pages on it, btw you can read wha is social bookmarking in this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_bookmarking blog commenting and forum posting. you will see the result weeks after that your keywords is improving on SEs just be patient
It sounds to me like you need to start at the beginning. Almost all sites that fail on the internet, do so because they didn't choose and optimize on the right key words. Choosing and optimizing on the right key words can make or break any site, and there's a ton of analysis that should go into it. You're not just looking for volume, but competition. And by competition, I don't just mean resutls in the search engine. I mean other sites that are actively trying to rank well for the exact same key phrase. Anyways, I recommend starting atthe beginning. List all of your key words that you currently rank well for, then add all the key words you'd like to rank well for, then list all of your compeditors key words, put them all in one big list, and run them through the google keyword tool. Set the search result ot 'exact' and try to find key prhases that have less than 90% compeition and more than 1000 unique searches per month. Any phrases that you find that meet this criteria that fit well with your site are key phrases that you should optimize for, two of them for your homepage, and others for other pages of your site. I'd be happy to give you a hand getting started with this free of charge. Send me a PM if interested.
Concentrate on other method of off-page seo factors like article marketing, social bookmarking, rss submission, directory submission, etc. to build your backlinks reportoire. Further, increase your on page seo efforts so you can get ranked well.
