Hey guys, im pretty sure im going to be dismissed instantly as just not worth dealing with etc... But im really stuck right now. Basically ive been left disabled, and i cant work right now, and for the immediate future at least. Im pretty much housebound and this has left me completely broke as you could imagine. I've heard about clickbank from a few places as ive been trying desperately to find some way of earning money on my computer, its literally all i can do right now. Im sure you guys havent got time for this but if anyone can point me in the right direction towards earning money online, via clickbank or if theres a better way for me, via that, i would be eternally grateful. Im completely lost in all this right now, and havent a clue what im going to do. I have the time, and im not a thick guy so i hope i can learn the skills necessarry for this kind of work. Does anyone have any tips, info, or anything, for someone completely new to this world, with no other option than to pursue it? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help, thanks.
Clickbank is probably my poorest converting network. The majority of the products are low quality and the landing pages are often terrible. I would check some of the other larger networks. You might also be able to earn a fair amount with the ad network in my signature. Basically they deliver affiliate products to your pages based on what your visitors are interested in. They pay out a large commission instead of a few cents a click like other ad networks. Anyhow, check my signature.
It sounds to me like you're a native English speaker. That's good -- it'll be easier to employ these techniques. ClickBank is great because it's free to join and there are tons of free promotion techniques you can employ before you make your first sales and are able to re-invest your earnings into promotion. Because you're so new to affiliate marketing, I'll give you a little step-by-step. 1. Pick a product. Not just any old thing, either. Browse through CB for a product that appeals to you. Once you've found something that you like begin your promotion. It'd be ideal if you bought the product so you know more specifics, but if you can't do that just now then that's OK. 2. Write articles. There are loads of free article sites out there just begging for your input. Write about 500 words or so on your product's niche -- that means NOT YOUR PRODUCT SPECIFICALLY! Article sites don't want a bunch of affiliates just pimping their product. Lets assume you chose a weight loss program. Write an article about motivating yourself to exercise. Do not mention the product in your article in any way. At the end of your article, most sites allow you to enter a little blurb about yourself. Here is where you'd add your link. I suggest you read through the following sites and figure out a good way to integrate your link: ezinearticles.com goarticles.com ideamarketers.com marketing-seek.com workoninternet.com/Submit_Article.html pubs.acs.org/hotartclarticle-hangout.com webarticles.com articlecube.com articles4content.com article-emporium.com buzzle.com impactarticles.com articlesfactory.com articlecity.comcertificate.net/ niche-article-directory.com jogena.com/articles/articleform.htm news.collectors.orgarticle-niche.com blogtelecast.comsuperpublisher.com articletogo.com articleworld.net impactarticles.com articlealley.com article-buzz.com free-articles-zone.com newarticlesonline.com directorygold.com dir.salon.com articlefever.com content-articles.com softwaremarketingresource.com/ marketing-article-directory.html articlecentral.com article-directory.net article-emporium.com ebooksnbytes.com ideamarketers.com internethomebusinessarticles.com site-reference.com stickysauce.com 3. Make a blog! Start filling your blog with 1-3 posts per week relevant to the niche product you've chosen. Add reviews on your product, add your product as a link in your sidebar, and don't pimp it too much. If all you talk about is what you're trying to sell, you're losing credibility. Make your website interesting -- what would YOU want to see if you were the customer? Lots of blog sites are free. Blogger.com and WordPress.com are the most popular, and also the best. As a bonus, after about a month of steady posts on blogger, you can apply for google adsense and earn revenue that way. 4. Make videos. Seriously, YouTube promotion is awesome. I have a website that I was trying to drive traffic to for months. I added 2 videos on YouTube and my uniques jumped from 10/mth to 250/mth. With 2 videos only. Admittedly my niche is pornographic in nature, so other niches may not convert as well. Still, it is an amazing and free promotion technique. 5. Continue to read these forums and ask questions. Not everyone is stingy about their "earning secrets" because most of them aren't a secret anyway. 6. PM me your AIM, MSN, or Skype and I'll answer any questions you might have. Always nice to have a marketing buddy.
Thanks very much for that post, yes im a native english speaker, i live in the United Kingdom. Would it even be possible for me, with no useable capital, no marketing talents, and no website etc... to make any money out of this kind of work?
I think you should definitely give clickbank a try, especially if you are up to writing a few articles a day. miakuru gave you some great tips above, and you should spend time reading threads here and on other forums dealing with internet marketing to "learn the ropes". Once you understand how internet and article marketing works, you should be able to generate at least a few hundred a month using clickbank fairly easily. If you do your research, it shouldn't cost you anything to get started - although you might want to invest in purchasing a few domains in the near future (.99 cents for a .info, or around $10 for a .com or .net). But you can get started for free writing articles and using squidoo or a free blog.
Thanks so much guys, so where should i start? Its just so overwhelming the amount of info in the forums, and the amount online and its hard to see whats genuine and what isnt etc...
Choose an article directory, find a product, and start writing. A lot. As I've said before, if you find the right niche, you can make a comfortable living with article marketing(sorry, I can't tell you the "right" niche). Good luck!
I would suggest starting out by writing articles for either EzineArticles or ArticleBase. In terms of picking a product, I would suggest you pick one with a gravity between 30-100, and for a topic that you feel you will be able to sustain enough interest to write articles about every day (and ideally one you feel good about promoting as well). I would suggest starting with at least two products, actually, in case one turns out to be a dud. Write at least one article a day for each product niche (but ideally more, many aim to write at least five articles a day, I try to do at least ten, but do what ever works best for you without burning you out completely). Make sure each article has a good resource box encouraging visitors to learn more by visiting your website. If you are writing for EzineArticles, you can't link directly to a clickbank page. Instead, you should write a review page for the product at Squidoo or for a blogger or wordpress blog, and on that page provide links to the clickbank page. So here is a quick guide to starting out for free with clickbank: 1) Pick one or two products at clickbank you are interested in promoting 2) Write a positive review of that product at squidoo or using a free blogger page (blogger might be best, since squidoo may decide to delete the page down the road), that links to the clickbank salespage (using your affiliate ID, of course. You might want to read up on ways to cloak that link at some point). 3) Start writing articles for ezine articles and/or article base that have a catchy resource box that encourages visitors to go to your review page, and then hopefully they will go from there to the clickbank page and make a purchase. This is just the bare bones. There's a lot of information out there to read about how to write effective resource boxes, write effective reviews (or "landing pages" etc.) and there are a lot more advanced techniques (keyword research is especially important). But this should at least get you started. Someone else just posted a tutorial you might want to check out here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1592854 but there is lots of info out there... just read, read, read! (But don't let that keep you from writing, writing, writing either
I'd suggest you to start a page at weblo, blogspot or squidoo. Choose a product that you like and with a gravity more than 10. Choose a keyword with low competition (something that has less than 1000 monthly searches) Read about "traffic generation" and "SEO" tips. Use the search function on this forum. Pretty much everything has already been explained here. Make some effort. Once you have read everything and started a page & done everything you read about, come and ask a question about a specific problem you face! Good Luck!
Thanks so much guys. I started last night by posting articles on Ezine, with a link at the bottom in my signature part to the product im pushing, is this a good way to start or is there something else i should be doing?
Make sure you keyword target. And by that, I mean write an article and put a keyword that people would type into google a lot, but that doesn't have a lot of competition. You can find good keywords using https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal. Click the "Website Content" bubble, and then plug in the URL of the website you're promoting for starters. Get as specific as possible and try and think of the words people would type in when they want to buy a product (the product name is a good one to write on, usually). Check out that tutorial Crafty Blogger linked to, and also the Bum Marketing Method to really start getting a grasp for it.
Remember that EzineArticles won't accept a direct link to clickbank. You need to make sure you are linking to a Squidoo, blogspot or similar webpage that you have already created about the product. On that page you can direct link to the clickbank product you are promoting using your affiliate link.
