Hi guys! My games/ringtones website has been a massive project, its still not finished, and after asking on here last week - im not even sure its going to make the money back that i've paied for it oh well, it was fun, and helped me learn php Anyways, i've read on here that the best way to make small amounts of money (like $60 a month and above), is to make sites in "niche" markets. Does this mean, an area that is searched by people, but not enough for big companies to invest money in. Or does it mean staying to areas that you know about? Also, when working on niche sites, is it best to buy the domain name to match the site, or are subdomains on a high PR site better??? I would say i'm capable of making good quality sites, with nice content - (im very good at writing (not bragging )) - but i have a tendancy of over complicating things, adding forums and features that may not be needed. When working on these sites, is it best to just have a very basic static html site with regually updated content? Any advice would be really apriciated. (some PM's to example niche sites would be fantastic) - but any help would be great. Cheers Guys, Regards.
I would think that, if you can do some study on the google and find out the niche market which not many people doing that. then you can build a site with a lot of relevant information. people will love it and you can make money from that, I belive.
Usually it's topics searched by lesser number of people and ones which do not have much competing sites. When on paper the prospect looks very exciting - 100 sites creating $1/day = $100/day or $3000/month. But let me tell you, it's lot of work to maintain and promote so many sites. Creating a site is not a big thing. Promoting it is the toughest part. With search engines enforcing stricter rules with each update, it's very difficult to get a site ranked in top ten results, no matter which niche you are in. I would suggest you focus on topic which you are best, master it, and then branch out with related sub-sites. This way, it's lot easier to get these sub-sites ranked higher.
