I'm rather angry as I have just found 2 different sites that have copied my site.

    Hi,

I have just found 2 sites that have only gone and copied large parts of my site. Infact nearly all of the affiliate programs listings contained within it.

The thing is that this only damages a site, so I have now emailed them asking them to take the content down or I will start to take legal action against them.

One of the sites ranks 2,000,000+ in alexa.

    My site ranks around 80,000+

The other site thats copied my content, which I am surprised at has a ranking of about 15,000

It is doing much better than me by the looks of things by actually using my sites content. It looks like they are getting quite a bit of the benefits from the search engines instead of me. No wonder my sites stats has decreased slightly as Google now things my site has duplicate content.

I just don't know why people do this as most people get found out in the end and only have to take the content down again, which is a waste of theirs and my time.

After waking up from last nights shocking disovery of seeing 3 sites with alot of my sites content, I have read my emails and have not yet received any reply from them that I contacted last night.

I have gone to the 3 sites and 2 still has my content on and 1 has taken it down.

So I am down to 2 sites with my content on them now.

The problem is that I hadn't checked for about 8 or more months to see if people were using my content so it could have really damaged my business because it would make my site not look so good to the major search engines.

Yes that is the main way that I found out about these 3 sites is that they had copied my affiliate networks listings straight from my site. I have copied a few little snippets of text from some of the networks and used them in these listings/reviews, but have also used alot of my own words and things to make them unique descriptions/reviews of each network, which cost me quite a bit of time and money to do.

These sites have then just copied and pasted each or most of the affiliate network listings from my site and pasted them onto theirs and then joined the affiliate networks and then replaced my id's with theirs so they get the credit.

Send an e-mail to the networks with their publisher ids in them as well.

Most won't do anything about it, but you never know.
