I've already gone a week without internet connection at my new house, now I get to enjoy a week of dialup before my ADSL gets relocated. I'd almost forgetten just how bad it was in the good old days. It makes me feel like I'm back in 1996, but without all the chicks and drugs.
I bet you've got 56kbps. My max connection speed is 31.2kbps, and I'm stuck with it all the time. The only thing we can get here is satellite, and dad won't hurry up and get it.
maybe it is time to get off internet for a week..you will be surprise how much more free time you 've got
Lol... You might not believe but I've been using it since I have got my PC.... For about 8 years. I am using it now...... Same here... Thats the only way for me to get high speed internet .
We got our computer in 1998 or so and have had the same dialup since. Before I was online a lot, I thought I was one of the maybe 5% of people who have dialup. I never realized so many people actually have it.
I'm sorry, that must be so frustrating for you! LOL I remember the days of slow page loads and all the other fun things that come along with dial-up. The thought of dealing with that is pretty much a nightmare!
It's been years since I've heard a modem connecting via dial-up. I miss that "kshhhhh-bing-bing-kshhhhh" static sound.
It is a nightmare isnt it had to switch my broadband recently so had to use dial up for about three weeks and i dont know what was worse the download time or the call costs.
And other thing you won't believe is that I have done more than 1gb downloads with my dial-up. It took 1 month . 10mb / hour.
I remember thos crappy dial up speeds. hey, at least you have the internet. I dont know what I would do without the internet for 1 day.
It reminds me of 2 years back when I used to get early in the morning to browse internet as I would get high speeds (31 to 40Kbps) in the morning with an uniterrupted connection...
Lol I downloaded Flash Professional MX 2004, Fireworks MX 2004, and Dreamweaver MX 2004 collection all on AOL dial up. Took me several days cause AOL has a tendency to kick you offline randomly which pissed me off
