Right, I just succesfully set up my domain(www.digital-pod.com) to my blog (http://thedigitalpod.blogspot.com) and it was working great but then I have just tryed to go on it, so I type in my domain and GOOGLE hompage comes up! I didnt touch anything all I did was put in the IP of my blog and did the domain forwarding to my blog, it was working perfect, what happend? Could it be because I have just set up AdSense and I am waiting for the confirmation email. But I don't see how that can do anything.
First of all, if you a doing a domain forward, you will type in the destination domain name, but not the IP address. Did you do a DNS update instead? and a blogger blog doesn't have a unique IP, if you change you DNS record to your blog's ip, it is actually point to google's DNS server, and it won't reslove your domain name btw it is working now
What I did was in the domain forwarding box, I typed in my blog domain (thedigitalpod.blogspot.com) and clicked accept on godaddy. I then went into command prompt and pinged http://thedigitalpod.blogspot.com and from that I got the ip address I put that into the DNS Control that godaddy has. And thats it. Have I done something wrong?
So Alis you can get on my blog by going through the domain? And Ahkip, I don't need to put anything in the DNS box. Just domain forwarding?
Yeah there is no problem with the blog i was reading your blog by the way what a small world i wrote the same stuff about some of the products on your site. Interested in link exchange ?
Definatly link exchange, what kind of things were the same? Also why can people go on my site through the domain but I can't?
What eror does it give ? About Sandisk Sansa i wrote today a article about it http://alisleonard.blogspot.com/
It doesn't give any error except when I try to get to my blog through the domain name it takes me to google.com instead.
If you did what you said, it is possible that we see your blog and you see google. Some ISP's DNS take longer to alter their record so ppl in different region could see different result. Just change your DNS back to default and wait a few hour, it should be good.
I'm not sure that the name was a good decision. In the last weeks, Apple started sending cease & desist letters to people having "pod" in domain names..
anyway white monkey don't save that few buck, get your own hosting.. i am sick of hearing ppl got their whole blog deleted by blogger and lost everything
